BRACELETS - BRACCIALETTI

Another little idea for transforming ordinary plastic bangles into something a little more attractive.
All you need is :bangle, lace, pritt stick, old sheeting to line the bracelet and buttons, pearls .
Rip the sheeting into a strip 2cm wide and cover the bangle by wrapping around until completely covered.Glue occassionaly into place. Then with your chosen piece of lace (with this white bangle I used an old piece of broderie anglaise) wrap around as you did before (glue as you go along ) then add buttons and pearls (these were sewn on ).There you have it.I love it.

This is another , this time I just cut a piece of lace and glued it into place over the lining. The lace is very unusual. Both bangles ready to wear this summer, and they didn't cost much to make, just 1€ for bangle.

RECYCLE - RICICLO

At last a bit of organisation aroundthe place.
Before it was looking a bit messy
Bits of ribbon and lace just thrown in .One big jumble
I always knew that these empty tubes(left over from cling film or foil rolls) would come in use.I just stuck some padding (this was also saved from the supermarket :used in packing the grapes in boxes) around the tube then sewed a cover (a little bit larger than the tube) turned it out the right way ,then forced the tube inside(any left over material just gets inserted into the tube which can be glued into place. Lastly add a length of ribbon or string by which to hang it.You can add as many tubes as you like.I did mine with three but need to make a couple of others.

Also I have added a couple of jars .Better to make use of these instead of throwing them away.I think we all have ideas for objects  that usually get thrown out and we feel pleased with ourselves making something wh
ich virtually costs hardly nothing, just time

SHABBY CHIC

Another book to add to my bookshelf. These are just a handful of wonderful ideas from this latest book which has in all 54 ideas over 140 pages all in shades of blue. How to make bookcovers, bags, table cloth and napkins, vase covers, lampshades, memory board, chair covers, ideas for covering jars, covering boxes and many others. The book is by Lise Meunier (Marabout ).I found it on Amazon at a very cheap price of 15 €. It is in french , like most of the best books. So if you like Shabby I highly reccomend this book, hope you will also agree. Many of the books that I buy ,I usually buy if I am attracted to the front cover and 9 times out of ten they have all been worth buying.Thats the only problem when you buy a book that you've never actually been able to flick through first, you take pot luck, in this case I made the right choice.

Just trying to decide what should be my next creative project.Got out all my books and searched through all the pages, lots of interesting ideas, brooches, necklaces, bags, maybe I'll make that bathroom sink curtain or new curtains for my dresser, the more I search the more my mind becomes confused. So after all this I decided to make some of these flowers (idea from book "petitsriens en liberty").Now I just need time to buy some beads and I will have a go at turning some into a necklace and bracelet.I have made a couple into brooches and added a couple to bags......so sweet.
